Description
The manakins are the dancers of the Amazon. The males gather together in leks to show off for the females, and each species of manakin has a different dance -- all quite elaborate, and lightning fast. You can see the dance of this beautiful male Wire-tailed Manakin (Pipra filicauda) at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQAPFFxgifE (someone has clipped that together to go with the music), and there is also a fun clip from a PBS documentary showing the Red-capped Manakin moonwalking like Michael Jackson ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI_quJRRGxk ).
